Adobe Indesign Student

Student Access

No activation necessary. Download Adobe CC apps, login as with your Enterprise ID (crimson email address and myBama password) and start making creative work with Adobe Creative Cloud!

How to Make a Gradient in InDesign Step 1. To create a gradient in InDesign, you must first have access to both the Gradient panel (Window Color Gradient) and the Gradient Tool (G) (usually located in the left toolbar). InDesign is a paid-for tool, but Adobe does let you download a free trial of InDesign for both Windows and Mac. Once you’ve done that, you’ll get seven days to use the full version of the page layout tool, which gives you access to all the latest features and updates.

Faculty/Staff Access

UA faculty and staff can activate their accounts in the Tech Tab of myBama to get started. Once your account is activated, download Adobe CC apps and sign in with your Enterprise credentials.
  1. Go to Adobe.com. Click Sign In in the upper right hand corner of screen. Click Sign in with your student email address under the Sign In button (highlighted in the image below) 4. Enter @student.montana.edu in the email address field then hit the Tab key. See image below.
  2. 学生・教職員の方は、Adobe Creative Cloudが65%以上割引になります。Photoshop、Illustrator、InDesign、Premiere Proなどが利用可能です。.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is my UA Enterprise email address?

For faculty and staff, your Enterprise email address is your myBamausername@ua.edu email address. For students, it is your Crimson email address.

What if I already have an Adobe ID?

In order to obtain the UA licensed Adobe software at no charge, you will need to login with an Enterprise Account. Please follow the steps above to set up your account.

Students

What if I already have an Adobe Creative Cloud Apps on my machine?

That’s great, you do not have to download new apps. You will simply need to login with your Enterprise Account to authenticate your applications.

Adobe Indesign Student License

Why do I get the message that I am using a free trial?

Chances are, you might have logged in as a Personal Account rather than with a Company or School account. Log out, and log back in after choosing “Company or School Account”. You will then login with your myBama username and password and be able to use the software under UA’s enterprise license.

How do I migrate content stored online with my personal Adobe ID account to the UA Enterprise account?

Adobe has helpful information on their website for backing up accounts and transferring assets.

Can I use my Adobe login on multiple devices?

Enterprise ID licenses allow for two active installations on two different devices.

Why am I getting a message that I already have an account?

You may have previously created an Adobe ID with your @ua.edu email address. You will need to create a new Adobe Enterprise Account in order to use the version provided to faculty and staff at no cost. Click the button above and follow the steps to get started.

Why am I getting a message that my username is not valid?

Students should enter their full Crimson email address, faculty and staff should enter their myBamausername@ua.edu email address. The application will not recognize just usernames, rather complete UA email addresses.

Why must students have an Adobe ID to use Adobe in computer labs?

UA has a shared device license to provide Adobe software in computer labs. An Adobe ID is required to access and use Adobe software. Students can quickly create an Adobe ID on the Adobe website, or they can login with an existing Adobe ID.

I am graduating. Can I keep the content I have created in Adobe?

Yes! We encourage all graduating students to create a personal Adobe account and migrate all work from their UA account to a personal account upon graduation from the University. More information on this process is available on Adobe’s website.

Lab Admins

Lab Administrators may install Adobe on shared machines in a lab or student environment. To be granted access to this procedure, please contact the IT Service Desk.

Adobe Creative Cloud for Students: Spring 2021

We are now able to provide individual Creative Cloud licenses to students who are taking classes that require that students use Adobe Creative Cloud products in their assignments. We can also provide licenses to Teaching Assistants (TAs) who need to use Creative Cloud software to prepare course materials. We are accepting these requests from course instructors or other officials in an academic department.

Instructors: Please send a list of the students enrolled in or teaching courses that require use of Creative Cloud software. That list should include each student’s name (first and last), Cornell NetID, and the course catalog number that requires use of the software. Send this list to cusoftware@cornell.edu.

Students: Please ask your instructor to send us a request to add you to the Creative Cloud license. We are only able to honor requests that come from your instructor or academic department. The Spring 2021 license will expire on June 25, 2021.

Members of the Cornell community can take advantage of several different licensing programs for Adobe products. Some of these programs are available at no cost; others have a fee associated with the license. Some extend usage rights to personally-owned equipment while other programs are only available to Cornell staff and faculty. Please see the particular program for details.

Be advised that it can take up to four weeks before we can provide you with an installer for an Adobe product that we have never offered before.

Previously Purchased Creative Suite Licensing

Cornell personnel who purchased an Adobe Creative Suite or Acrobat Professional perpetual license in 2014 or earlier should transition to Creative Cloud or Acrobat Pro, under our current licensing agreement. Adobe no longer provides support or security updates to any Creative software from that period. Consequently, such software is considered insecure, and should no longer be used in the Cornell environment.

Student Licensing

We can now offer student licensing for Creative Cloud to students who are taking classes that require use of Creative Cloud. See the Spring 2021 announcement at the top of this article.

Adobe Indesign Student Version Download

Students: Software available through this page is only for Cornell institutional use. We are not able to authorize students to download Adobe products from this page. If you purchased Adobe products on behalf of your department, please ask a staff or faculty member in your department to begin the download for you. Students interested in purchasing Adobe software for personal, non-Cornell-owned computers can see subscription options at Adobe's Creative Cloud for Students page

Faculty and staff: Your individual license for non-Creative Cloud products typically includes permission to install your product on up to two computers. You may not use both instances of the software simultaneously. If the Cornell-owned computer is assigned to you as an individual, your license may allow you to install your product on one computer that is your personal property. If that is the case, you agree to uninstall this software if you ever sell the computer or if your employment at Cornell comes to an end. Use of the Cornell-owned license on personally-owned computer equipment is also subject to local departmental policy, so please check with your departmental IT staff before installing Adobe software onto a personally-owned computer. Please check the End-User License Agreement for your specific product prior to installing on a personally-owned computer to make sure that this is allowed under license.
